Uploading Studies

There are two methods to initiate a file upload:
Method A (Via Facilities Tab): Navigate to the Facilities tab, select the specific facility, and click the “Uploads” button.

Method B (Via Upload Tab): Navigate directly to the “Upload” tab on the top right corner in the main navigation menu and click Upload File.

STEP 2: Once the prompt below appears (via either method), provide an Upload Name, choose the required .csv file, verify the target Facility, and select the Upload Type. Optionally, you may also add the Facilitation Date and attach any related drawings. And click “Upload”.
Navigate to the HAZOP Mapping section to configure the system to read your CSV columns. You can utilize "AI Mapping" for automatic column detection or choose "Manual Mapping" to manually enter the respective column numbers (Note: Column indexing starts at 0).
If you have previously created a mapping, you can also use the "Copy Mapping" option to duplicate an existing configuration to the same facility or a different facility if needed.
Instead of manually mapping every column, you can leverage the system's AI to read your file's structure and generate a mapping configuration automatically.
STEP 1: Click the "AI Generate Mapping" button.
STEP 2: A pop-up window will appear. Use the HAZOP File to Analyse dropdown to select the specific uploaded file you want the AI to process. The system will automatically populate a suggested Mapping Name based on the file you selected. You can click into this text box to edit the name if needed. Click "Generate Mapping". (Note: This generation process may take 10–30 seconds as the AI reads the file's column structure). (See the screenshot below).
CRITICAL REVIEW: Once the mapping has been generated, it will open in the editor. You must manually review the Severity Order, Likelihood Order, and Risk Ranking Order. Verify that these values are in the correct hierarchical order for your facility's specific risk matrix.
STEP 3: Once you have verified the risk orders and column assignments, scroll to the bottom and click "Update Mapping" to save the configuration.

STEP 3: First, update the Severity Order, Likelihood Order, and Risk Ranking Order to align exactly with the facility's specific risk matrix. Next, enter the corresponding column index numbers for each required field based on your CSV file (Note: Column indexing starts at 0).
BEST PRACTICE: To prevent mapping errors, open your CSV file in Excel prior to upload, insert a temporary new row above your headers, and number the columns starting from 0 (0, 1, 2, 3, etc.). Use this as a reference guide when entering the column numbers into the platform.

STEP 3.3: Note: While the example image below may only show the 'Node' being mapped, you must ensure every relevant column header from your CSV is assigned a column number in the mapping tool.
STEP 3.4: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update Mapping". Your mapping will not be saved unless this button is clicked. If you need to clear your configuration, use the "Delete Mapping" button located next to it.
If your facility requires different mapping configurations for different files (e.g., files from different contractors or software exports), you can create multiple mappings within the same facility.
To create a new mapping: Use the "Create HAZOP Mapping" or "AI Generate Mapping" buttons to build an entirely new configuration and follow the steps in 2.2.1.1 and 2.2.1.2.

To duplicate an existing mapping: If you have already created a successful mapping configuration, you do not need to map everything from scratch. Use the copy feature to duplicate an existing mapping configuration to a different facility if required. To do this, navigate to "Copy HAZOP Mapping", select the target facility you want to copy the configuration to, and give the new mapping a name.

To translate the raw CSV into structured database objects, navigate to the "Uploads" tab located within the main Facilities tab. Locate your uploaded file, click the "Parse" button, and select the correct HAZOP mapping configuration you created in the previous step to execute the parser.
Once the parsing is successfully complete, the parsing status indicator will change to "Parsed". If the status indicates "Failed", please check your HAZOP Mapping configuration to ensure the column numbers have been assigned properly.

If Bowtie diagrams are required, you must first prepare your source CSV file before uploading.
Prepare the CSV: Open your CSV file and insert a new, blank column. You must give this column a header (we recommend naming it "Bowtie Centre" for easy identification later).
Update the Mapping: In the HAZOP Mapping settings, ensure that the "Bowtie Centre Column" is assigned to the column number you just created.
(Note: Because source CSV files typically do not have a dedicated Bowtie center column, the AI Mapping tool usually will not fill this out automatically. Therefore, whether you are using AI or Manual mapping, you must manually ensure this field is assigned to a blank column number).
Once the mapping is verified, select the "AI Bowtie Generation" option. You do not need to select parse CSV if the file has already been successfully parsed; simply initiate the AI Bowtie generation.

Similar to the Bowtie feature, if you plan to use the system's AI to group and analyze your safeguards, you must prepare your source data first.
Prepare the CSV: Open your source CSV file and insert a new, blank column. You must provide a header for this column (we recommend naming it "Safeguard Group" for easy identification in the Data Viewer).
Update the Mapping: Navigate to your HAZOP Mapping settings and ensure that the "Safeguard Group Column" is mapped to the column number you just created. (Note: As with the Bowtie centre, the AI Mapping tool will likely leave this blank because the column did not exist in the original export. You must manually assign this column in the mapping settings).
(Note: Because source CSV files typically do not have a dedicated Safeguard Group column, the AI Mapping tool usually will not fill this out automatically. Therefore, whether you are using AI or Manual mapping, you must manually ensure this field is assigned to a blank column number).
Once the mapping is verified, select the "AI Safeguard" option. You do not need to re-parse the CSV if the file has already been successfully parsed; simply initiate the AI Safeguard generation.
